About
Story
Smoky was found as a 6-week-old puppy by a volunteer in the woods. He was alone, with no sign of mother or other siblings, and it was quite clear that he would die soon if not rescued. So he was taken in and asked us for help.
Behavior
Smoky is a happy, funny, and always cheerful young dog, friendly to people, nice and playful with other dogs. He has all the qualities that make a real family member—he just needs to find a real family. Smoky is friendly towards people, whether they are new or familiar. He is open and curious, likes to be petted, and enjoys any kind of attention. He is always happy to see old acquaintances again and greets them with a wagging tail and a little dance of joy. He also likes children and plays with them. Out of sheer enthusiasm, he can jump on one or the other, but generally he is easy to correct. He is very playful and loves it when people throw him balls that he can bring back (or not), likes all kinds of toys, and is funny to watch as he sometimes drags his ball (or another toy) around with him. He gets along fairly well with other dogs, but he is quite active and likes to play, which can be annoying for older dogs or those not in the mood to play. He enjoys walks and trips, is nice, but needs a firm hand, as he sometimes tends to pull. Outside, he tends to run after cats, but inside he is quite okay and does not want to harm them; it is just curiosity.
Medical status
He was very skinny when found and in poor health, but now he has no major health issues. He tends to have diarrhea when eating rubbish from the ground, but generally he is healthy and okay.
