About
Story
Toto is a small dog exceptionally gentle and balanced who has lived as a pet for many years. Unfortunately, following a serious illness of a child, the family situation changed drastically and his family decided to abandon him. It is therefore with a heavy heart that he is looking for a new home.
Behavior
Toto measures 53 cm and weighs 20 kg. He is a friendly, gentle, and pleasant companion. He loves people, enjoys being in their company, is affectionate, and appreciates all forms of attention without being intrusive. He loves being surrounded by people, but if his owners do not have time or are busy, it does not bother him at all. Toto enjoys going out with his owners, whether for walks or short excursions. Moderate exercise and special moments with his owners are enough for him. Although Toto is generally not very playful, he likes to run after balls thrown to him or to race and play with other dogs. He walks well on a leash. In recent years, his walks have been neglected, but now he is happy to have them as part of his daily routine. He is used to city noise and it does not bother him. He can sometimes get excited or bark a little when seeing other dogs, bikes, or noisy motorcycles, but he always calms down easily. We train daily to react more calmly in these situations. Toto is generally tolerant of other dogs but does not actively seek their company. He accepts other dogs without problem but is usually more interested in humans than in playing with other dogs. Although sociable and friendly with other dogs, regardless of their age, sex, or size, he is not very playful nor particularly interested in them. Toto also gets along very well with cats. He currently lives with a female cat and is calm and friendly towards her. They even sleep together and share their daily routines peacefully. He also calmly observes outside cats and ignores them. Toto knows his name perfectly and responds to it systematically. He comes when called, especially indoors. He has not yet received much training in traditional commands and does not know many signals yet. However, his foster family believes he is quite capable of learning with time and patience. He tolerates grooming, such as brushing or bathing, even if he is not particularly enthusiastic. He remains calm and cooperative. Car journeys go well, even if he is not used to them. His foster family describes Toto as a very affectionate, simple, and adaptable dog. He has lived many years in a family and knows how to behave perfectly at home. He enjoys walks, attention, and tender moments with his humans. He would be happy in an apartment or a house, provided he can be a permanent member of the family. We are looking for people who want a calm, loyal, and easy-to-live-with companion. He is not a demanding dog: what he desires most is love, security, and people with whom he can stay forever.
