About
Story
Spike was adopted as a puppy by a family that has now divorced, with Spike's adopter being left alone with her two young twins. She can no longer properly care for Spike and asks us to find him a new family before October of this year. She no longer takes him out except for "potty breaks" of 5 minutes, three times a day.
Behavior
Spike is extremely affectionate and very close to humans. He loves cuddles, contact, and is sociable with everyone. He has already lived with young children and adores them, without any incidents. He also enjoys having visitors at home. At home, Spike is an easy dog to live with. He is house-trained, does not cause damage, and can stay alone for several hours without problems (the current family leaving him alone for 9 to 10 hours daily), spending most of his time sleeping calmly. He is also calm indoors. Outside, Spike is playful, active, and enjoys walks. He gets along very well with other dogs and appreciates their company, even if he can be a bit intimidated by larger ones at first. He shows more a submissive than a dominant character. Spike already knows basic commands such as βsit,β βlie down,β or βstay.β He is intelligent and learns quickly, although he can sometimes be a bit distracted outdoors. He enjoys car rides and also appreciates grooming moments, like baths. Spike is a balanced, gentle dog, already well-trained, and will easily adapt to family life. He just needs a loving home for life this time, we hope.
Medical status
Spike has been regularly monitored by a veterinarian since he was 3 months old and has been vaccinated and dewormed regularly.
